2020-2021 Instructional Delivery Commitment Form

**Please fill out one form per student**

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and guidance from the Texas Education Agency and the latest Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS) Order, A+ Academy and Inspired Vision Academy will start the school year on August 12th with remote/online instruction only through September 4th. On September 8th, if allowed by DCHHS, A+ Academy and Inspired Vision Academy will be offering TWO types of instructional delivery for the 2020-2021 school year. Parents may choose their preference. Each type will be described below. Read each option carefully and make your selection.

Please note that you may switch to a different instructional delivery method later but may only do so at the end of a grading term. The option you choose on this form will be the instructional delivery method that your student will utilize when school begins. **If you change your mind between the time you complete this form and July 31, please contact your campus directly. **

Face-to-Face/On-Campus Instruction

  • Available to all students, PK - 12
  • Students will follow the traditional schedule, attending school 5 days per week.
  • Enhanced sanitation protocols on our campuses will be followed throughout the day.
  • Social distancing measures will be implemented wherever possible.
  • Masks or face shields will be required for students in grades 4-12, when required by executive order.

Remote/Online Instruction

  • Available to all students, PK - 12
  • All work will be done online, so a computer and an internet connection will be necessary. If you do not have access to a computer or internet, please contact the school for assistance.
  • Learning opportunities will be asynchronous.
    • Asynchronous instruction is NOT real-time and may be accomplished through independent activities and self-directed participation. Students will utilize Google Classroom to obtain instruction and submit assignments. Teachers may require your student to participate in live instruction periodically.
    • Asynchronous instruction will require daily participation. Attendance will be taken each day and the student is expected to complete assignments daily in order to be counted present.
  • Students will be expected to log in each day that school is in session, communicate with their teachers, and make adequate progress toward meeting their educational goals.
  • A parent or guardian will need to be available to support younger students in navigating the daily schedule, and providing assistance with the learning as needed.
  • Remote Learners WILL be allowed to participate in extra-curricular activities.

Important Things to Note

  • Expectations for coursework and guidelines for grading for Face-to-Face Learning and Remote Learning will be the same.
  • Attendance requirements are the same for Face-to-Face Learning and Remote Learning. Students must attend at least 90% of the instructional days in the school calendar to be awarded credit and/or advanced to the next grade level.
  • Once a parent makes a choice for Remote Learning, they will be locked into that instructional delivery method until the end of the grading period.
